Increasing software capabilities for efficient mining

The introduction of the new scheduling workflow in Micromine 2016, the latest version of MICROMINE’s exploration and 3D mine design solution, provides users with powerful tools for both short and long term pit optimisation and scheduling. These tools have been developed for ease of use, allowing users to create more efficient mine plans.
Problem solving with Micromine
While many operations use a manual scheduling process; combining generic spreadsheet/s and project management applications, this can lead to shortcomings that can be unproductive and error prone.
Micromine’s scheduler tools are able to overcome the limitations of project management and avoid the need for manual scheduling. This is achieved through the schedule optimiser, that identifies an optimal extraction sequence. The optimiser uses a driven mathematically proven Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) solver that converts a mining problem such as extracting ore, into a model, which Micromine will then find the most efficient mining sequence for the task to be completed.
Leading efficient mining software
Micromine is now also capable of long scheduling that can take any number of variables and set them towards an optimisation objective. As the MILP solver will produce potentially millions of possible outcomes, Micromine will attempt to maximise the discounted Net Present Value (NPV) by finding the most efficient mining extraction process.
Using Micromine 2016’s tools, users are now able to use Micromine for a variety of short and long term scheduling tasks. This eliminates the need for high-priced and difficult to learn scheduling software, with Micromine able to produce an efficient mining plan for a number of variables.
